New Government Motors (GM) Offer

September 14th, 2009 by Shane Kenny | No Comments | Filed in Politics

During the men’s semifinal at the U.S. Open yesterday I saw the following GM commercial for the first time:

I have a problem with this for 2 reasons:

  1. At about 25 seconds Ed Whitacre says, “So we are putting our money where our mouth is”.  No, that is my money you are putting where your mouth is.  Thanks to that tax money that has been thrown your way to keep GM afloat.  It is also my kids money since they will have to pay the debt that our government is creating in order to own and run a car company.
  2. Is a 60 day money back guarantee really the best offer you could come up with?  If this is the most original thing you can think of to get your company’s sales back on track then just close your doors now.  Its not like there aren’t already thousands of other products on the market that are backed with a money back guarantee.  This is almost common practice.  Frankly, I am surprised that GM didn’t already have a money back guarantee.

Hott Girls Go To Freedom Church

September 8th, 2009 by Shane Kenny | No Comments | Filed in Church

Don’t take it from me.  I grabbed this picture on the way to lunch today.  Notice the Freedom Church sticker in the window just below the heart.

In case the other thousand reasons you should come to Freedom Church were not enough, this should push you over the edge for sure.

US 10k

I ran the US 10k again today.  I waited until about a week ago to make my mind up but decided to run it again after all.  I just remembered how brutal the course was last year and wasn’t sure I wanted to do that again.  In case you think I am kidding here is the elevation chart that my Garmin watch produced from the run this morning:

I did better than last year with an unofficial time of 56:12.  You can’t complain when you shave 6 minutes of you race time from the previous year.  If I could  shave off another 6 minutes I may earn a medal next year.  They give one to the first 1,000 finishers.
